Conditional Use Rules for Transient Aircraft Visiting Stellar Airpark

This information is provided by the Stellar Runway Utilizers Association (SRUA). Stellar Airpark is a privately owned airport with conditional public access. The airport is surrounded on three sides by residential neighborhoods. For safety and to serve as a good neighbor to the homeowners who live on and nearby the airport we have instituted operational rules and requirements. Thank you for adhering to these rules and helping to minimize noise aggravation, promote safe operations and reduce the perception of a hazard.

Stellar welcomes transient aircraft, subject to pilots' adherence to the rules in the link above.  Your use of Stellar Airpark constitutes your acknowledgement of these conditional rules and the your agreement to follow them.  For convenience the following list summarizes several of the rules pertinent to transient aircraft:

    • Flight School training may only be conducted with prior permission from SRUA.
    • Be vigilant for non-radio aircraft based at and operating at the airport.
    • Traffic pattern is left hand, at 2000 feet, for both runways 17 and 35, except for turbine aircraft. runway 17 is the preferred runway unless winds favor runway 35. Please enter the downwind for runway 17 over the Chandler Mall.
    • Avoid long, low final approaches, unless necessary for the safe operation of the aircraft.
    • No straight-in final approaches allowed.
    • Touch and go landings and low passes are not permitted.
    • Practice instrument approaches are not authorized.
    • Helicopters shall approach the airport from the east avoiding the flow of fixed wing aircraft and avoiding over-flight of houses.
    • Use east taxiway only. West taxiway is restricted: homeowner use only.
    • Be vigilant of residents walking, riding bicycles or using vehicles on or around the taxiways.
    • Perform run-ups only at the ends of the runway on the east side in designated areas.
    • Midfield departures are not recommended.
    • Departures – Runway 17 (preferred runway)
Maintain runway heading until reaching 500 feet AGL and south of the San Tan Freeway (Loop 202)
    • Departures – Runway 35 (discouraged, unless wind favors 35)
Maintain runway heading until reaching 500 feet and north of Chandler Boulevard.
    • Avoid flying over the homes west of the runway and the school which is approximately ½ mile north of the Airpark.
    • Please refer to the latest edition of the Airport/Facility Directory for additional information.
